Our stall at the 2007 Southwold Hospital Fete was most successful, raising more than £340. Another £300 was raised at our Cream Tea on East Green on August 1st (below.)

Core funding is from Suffolk County Council (Social Services), Waveney District Council and Suffolk Coastal District Council. Some small grants are forthcoming from local town councils and several fundraising activities are organised.

The car service is run under the Suffolk County Council Environment and Transport rules which attract a consequent subsidy of 9p a mile to drivers and the Centre. The passenger contributes at a rate which is supplemented by that grant.

No charge is made for the non-driving activities which we undertake.

The founding members of VHC initiated a

covenant scheme which we now manage under Gift Aid. Approximately 100 local people pledge a regular sum of money (paid via direct debit) to the Centre and we then claim the appropriate tax rate percentage back in addition. We raise several thousand pounds a year in this way.

We are also the recipients of many very generous donations from both users and supporters of the service

Patricia Scott describes her communities as very generous and says that, on the whole, the Centre rarely lacks funds.
